  We hunt from portable tree stands set up over bait sites. Stands are set between 15 and 40 yards from the bait, improving your chances for success. Bear sightings from these stands have been nearly 100% and some hunters have reported seeing several bears in one evening. You may be tempted to shoot the very first bear you see but I strongly urge that you shoot only adult bears. If you're seeing a small bear or a sow with cubs, I will put you on another bait.
